FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does TALISIK publish?
TALISIK is an undergraduate journal of philosophy established in 2014 by the Concilium Philosophiae. Since then, our publication underscores discourse and dialogue as the foundation of doing philosophy, which is why it provides opportunities for philosophy undergraduates in the Philippines to publicize their investigative philosophical endeavors. Because of this, everyone behind TALISIK is dedicated to publishing journal articles, Agora, and book reviews of high academic standards.
I am not an undergraduate student at UST. Do I still qualify to submit my manuscript?
TALISIK publishes papers from undergraduate students of other academic institutions, local and international.
Can graduate students submit to Talisik?
TALISIK accepts submissions from undergraduate students and students currently in graduate school who are yet to obtain an MA degree in Philosophy. This means submissions from authors with MA degrees in Philosophy and PhD students can no longer submit manuscripts.
How does Agora differ from the rest of the papers being submitted to your publication?
Agora is separate from journal articles and book reviews that TALISIK publishes. It is a space for prospective undergraduate authors to freely express their ideas and opinions in our publication that does not conform to the traditional structure of academic discussion. Common themes are contemporary, ethical, and socio-political issues.
Can I make more than one submission?
Authors may submit more than one manuscript, as long as the manuscripts follow the recommended format depending on the category. However, an author can only publish one paper per category per volume/issue.
Can I write in Filipino?
TALISIK accepts entries written in English or Filipino. If written in English, non-english words must be italicized and if written in Filipino, non-filipino words must be italicized. We also require manuscripts written in Filipino to provide an English translation of their title and abstract.
Until when can I submit my manuscript or entries for publication?
For the deadline of submissions for philosophical journal articles, Agora, and book reviews, kindly refer to our FaceBook page or you may email the journal for inquiries.
