PUBLICATION ETHICS
A. Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice StatementTALISIK: An Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy is dedicated to the cultivation of the culture of research among undergraduate students of philosophy by following the highest ethical and academic standards and upholding the following responsibilities:Responsibilities of the Editorial BoardThe Editorial Board of TALISIK oversees the publication of articles, book reviews, and Agora papers. The Editorial Board initially reviews submissions and decides whether they are suitable for publication in the journal. Papers that passed the initial screening are prepared for a triple-blind review. The author, associate editors, and external referees identities are kept anonymous from each other. Throughout the process, it is also the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor to inform the author of the status of their submissions, whether they have been accepted, rejected, or accepted with the need for revisions. Any details relating to the manuscript and the author are only disclosed once the manuscript is set to be published. The Editorial Board may reject a manuscript that has already been submitted and is currently under review in other journals or violates legal provisions on libel, copyright, or originality. The views expressed by the author do not necessarily reflect those of the Editorial Board, the Department of Philosophy, the Faculty of Arts and Letters, and the University. TALISIK does not charge fees for the process of publication.Responsibilities of the RefereeThe Editorial Board chooses an external referee to review a submitted manuscript based on their area of expertise and research specialization. The referee, upon reviewing the submitted manuscript, decides to accept, reject, or accept the paper with the need for revision. The referee also gives recommendations for improvement of the manuscript. The referee presents a refereeing report which contains their decision and comments on the paper, which the Editorial Board relays to the author. Because this is a triple-blind review, a referee's assessment of a manuscript submission must solely rely on its merits and not on the race, gender/sexuality, religious and political orientation of the author.Responsibilities of the AuthorAuthors must submit an original and unpublished manuscript not under review in any other journal. They must ensure the originality of the work and properly cite their sources following the journal’s recommended citation style. Authors are also encouraged to communicate with the Editorial Board their concerns and questions regarding the publication process.B.
